In an interview with the International Social Security Association (ISSA) on the occasion of the Social Security Corporation receiving the "Good Practices Award - Asia and the Pacific”

AL Razzaz: The project reflects a strategic plan to cover all citizens with the Social Security Corporation's umbrella

Social Security Corporation (SSC) Director General Omar Al Razzaz said the Good Practices Award - Asia and the Pacific” that the SSC received from the ISSA is a source of pride for Jordan and the SSC's cadres.
In an interview with the ISSA during a ceremony where the SSC was granted the first award for its project to expand social security coverage,  Al  Razzaz said the award is extended to Jordan and the working teams in the field for implementing the expansion project.
Al Razzaz said the project is based on a three-year strategic plan that includes three main pillars. The first entails expanding coverage to include facilities where there are less than five employees.
The second part entails launching the "Social Security Ambassador" programme, under which a mobile office will travel from one country to another to raise awareness among Jordanians working abroad and provide them with social security coverage.
Al Razzaz said the third pillar entails amending the Social Security Law to redefine insured persons in a way that allows coverage for uninsured individuals, including business owners, housewives and students.
On the strategy in place to expand coverage, Al Razzaz said the upcoming stage will be in Irbid Governorate and will be implemented in cooperation with public agencies and civil society institutions, adding that efforts will be exerted to cover all industrial and commercial stores, offices and workshops with the social security.
The decision by the ISSA's independent jury to grant the SSC the award was based on accurate standards and foundations that proved that the SSC managed to strengthen its role in providing social protection out from national responsibility in providing protection and ensuring equity for  the current and the future generations alike. The SSC also asserted itself as keen on enhancing its services to ensure providing services that are in line with the best international standards in this regard.
